To groom a Pomeranian, brush the dog out completely, trim the ears with thinning shears, trim between the toes, and shave in between the pads of the feet with a number 40 blade. For a lion cut on a Pomeranian dog, shave the entire body in reverse and trim the mane with thinning shears using instructions from a professional dog groomer in this free video on grooming dogs.
Hi, this is Sammi at the Animal Care Center in West Bountiful, Utah. We're going to talk about how to groom a Pomeranian. We're having Ruby here to help us out today, we don't have any Pomeranians in the clinic. You'll want to make sure that you brush them out completely, making sure to get all of the thick spots on their chest, thighs and around their mane. You'll want to thin out their ears with you thinning shears and then brush it out to get all the loose hair out. You'll want to trim in between their toes to give their feet a nice clean appearance, and make sure to shave in between their pads with a number 40 blade. If you're going to give a lion cut on your Pomeranian, the most common blade used is a number 7 finished cut blade, you'll shave in reverse on the entire body up to the top of the neck, and you'll leave the mane long and trim it with your thinning shears.
