Alrighty then! I've got a little can of paste wax here. This is just common floor wax and my trusty paint brush. And we're going to put the finishing touch on this. I've already put some wax on it, but it takes an awful lot of wax on this, so I'm just going to mash my wax up. It helps if the wax is warm and liquidy as possible. You might leave the can out in the sun or put it in a pail of hot water or something like that to get it soft. And we're just going to brush wax all over it. And we get it, get it everywhere, all down the base. You're going to need a pretty thick coat. And just do like that all over the piece. You're going to need a brush to do this with because if you try to do it with a rag you're going to leave threads all over the piece because this wood is so rough. After the wax dries for a little while, about oh three or four hours I would say. Let it dry. And I come back with a little shoe brush like this. You can use just about any brush as long as it's fairy soft. And just shine it. Like a pair of shoes. And keep shining it, keep rubbing it, keep rubbing it like this. This is the part that makes the lamp look really nice. So you may have to spend some time putting on a coat of wax, maybe another coat of wax, maybe you let it dry, you put a third coat on. But as long as you keep buffing it like this, eventually this wood is going to have a really nice soft sheen to it. And then you're ready to put your lamp hardware on, and choose a lampshade and let there be light!
