Today we are talking in this segment about shooting as it pertains to dove and quail hunting. Now, if you have hunted dove or quail you know that you have to lead the birds. It's something that you just have to practice on more than anything else. Knowing how far to lead a bird, for instance if a quail gets up in front of you from your feet and is flying away you are not going to lead it very much you are just going to cover it and shoot as opposed to you are shooting a dove that?s flying at forty-five yards away from left to right you are going to have to lead that bird. Some of those things take a lot of practice one of the best things you can do to figure that out is to go to a gun range to shoot and to practice. A lot of that just comes with time. Your mind is an amazing muscle. What happens with your mind and your brain is that as you shoot your brain starts to calibrate, making unnecessary adjustments in terms of lead. So, one of the worst things you can do is think too much about the shot. Again you need to be familiar and comfortable with the weapon that you are shooting and practice with that in order to know just how far you need to lead a quail or a dove.
