Motorola cell phone batteries are not always compatible. Specific designs and power capabilities of the battery will either enable them or disable them from being used in other Motorola machines. This is the case with Motorola BT50 and BC50 batteries. These batteries are different in size, battery compatibility and machine compatibility.

The Motorola BT50 is a 3.7 volt lithium-ion battery. It has the capacity of 850 mAh (milliampere/hour); this is the battery speed. The BT50 weighs 50 grams. Dimensions of the BT50 are in millimetres; 54.05 x 35.70 x 4.50. The Motorola BC50 is also a 3.7 volt lithium-ion battery. However, it has a 750 mAh capacity and weighs 45 grams. The dimensions of the BC50 are in millimetres, 45.20 x 37.30 x 4.70. This makes the BC50 a smaller and less powerful battery than the BT50.

Battery Compatibility

Motorola battery BT50 is compatible with Motorola batteries 77751, 77863, BA250, BQ50, CFNN1037, CFNN1039, SNN5743, SNN5659A, SNN5766A, SN5766B, SNN5771, SNN571A and SN5804A. The Motorola BC50 battery is compatible with 77865, CFNN1043, SNN5779, SN5779B, and SN5779C Motorola batteries. The BC50 is smaller and compatible with fewer batteries than the BT50.

Machine Compatibility

Motorola batter BT50 is also compatible with other Motorola phone models such as the A732, A810, C118, C193, C975, C980, EM28, EM330 Ischia, E1000, E1070, KRZR-K1m, KRZR-K3, Ming, Motosurf A3100, ROKR-E2, V177, V190, V191, V323, V325, V360, V360i, V360v, V361, V975, V980, V1100, VE538, W181, W205, W208, W218, W220, W230, W231, W270, W355, W375, W388, W395, W396, W510, W755 and the ZN300. The BC50 battery is compatible with model numbers C257, C261, EM35, KRZR-K1, L2, L6, L6g, L6i, MotoROKR E6, RIZR-V3x, RIZR-23, RIZR-26, SLVR-L7, SLVR-L7c, SLVR-L7i, U6C, VE66, Z1, ZN200 and the Aura. The BC50 is not only smaller and less powerful, it is also less compatible with other Motorola machines.

Both batteries are available for purchase at many mobile phone battery supply stores. The average cost of the BT50 is £25.90, while the BC50 can be purchased for around £6.40. Both prices are set before tax and are valid as of December 14, 2010. Prices are subject to change.
