The term Samurai brings to mind ancient warriors from feudal Japan covered head-to-toe in ornate armour. Today, people across the world still take part in Samurai training. Schools educate both beginners and those already skilled in martial arts. Although learning Kendo (sword fighting) doesn't have as much relevance today as in feudal Japan, it still teaches discipline and physical fitness. Plus, it's just a lot of fun hitting other people with big, wooden, training swords. When choosing a training program, consider the experience and qualifications of the instructor, who should have a strong background in martial arts.

Poway Samurai Martial Arts

Poway Samurai Martial Arts school focuses on strategies of the Samurai and Ninja martial arts. It offers a group program for adults, a kids class for children ages 6 through 16, and a program called Little Ninjas for children ages 3 to 5. Adults can also take classes with their children to make training into a family activity. Feel free to sample all the classes for free including the Samurai Sword Training class. The instructor, Tony Whetstine, has 30 years of experience in martial arts and studied in Japan.
