Elvis Presley is American rock and roll royalty. People of all generations know of him and can pinpoint his music right away. Die hard fans of "the king" may wish to create homemade crafts to decorate their homes and honour Elvis. Using some imagination and some inspiration from his music, you can create crafts that would make the king's lip curl.

Christmas Ornaments

Create something that can be part of your tree every Christmas. Choose your favourite Elvis (rhinestone, leather, young Elvis) character or your favourite aspect of his career and create an ornament. Purchase plain, paintable ornaments and ceramic paint at the craft store and paint something that reminds you of Elvis. Use glitter paint to make a gold record, paint the gates of Graceland or create a blue ornament with the king's silhouette to honour his song, "Blue Christmas."

Homemade Pillows

For diehard Elvis fans, decorating certain rooms in the house in honour of Elvis is not an unheard practice. To add a little more Presley to the decor, purchase fabric with his image on it and create throw pillows. Local craft stores typically carry different versions of Elvis fabric, so depending on your favourite Elvis era, you can make a pillow with some stuffing, a sewing machine and your new fabric. You can also use the fabric to make quilts, curtains or even a quilted bag.

Elvis made many hit records during his time and if you are lucky enough to have them, you should proudly display them. Buy record frames from a craft store or local housing goods store. Make sure the frames can hang on the wall. Put your records inside their jackets and then inside the frame. This simple craft not only keeps the records safe but it also displays your love of Mr. Presley and his music.

Create a Crown

A fun craft for kids or for an Elvis-themed party is to create crowns. Using store-bought plastic crowns and decorations from the craft store, spend the day creating a crown for the king of rock and roll. Elvis was known for his love of rhinestones, gold belts and sunglasses, so use this imagery when decorating your crowns.
