Polartec Classic

The Polartec Classic fabric was one of the first of Malden Mills fleece fabrics for garment production. The line has expanded to over 90 styles and a wide variety of colours. The Polartec Classic fabrics are categorised by weight, which indicates the level of insulation. Classic 100 is the lightest, providing warmth for outdoor activities in cool weather and Classic 300 is the heaviest, used for activities in very cold weather conditions. Polertec classic fabrics are put to use as insulation in snow boots, zip up jackets, jacket lining, ski masks, gloves and hats.

Polartec Thermal Pro and Thermal Pro High Loft

Polartec Thermal Pro is a textured fleece fabric that provides the maximum amount of insulation with very little weight. The High Loft version is the highest warmth-to-weight ratio of all the Polartec fleeces. The fabric has a layer of unwoven fibres that trap warm air while allowing the fabric to breath. The surface of the fabric can be woven to create fabric patterns like herringbone, corduroy, rib knit, cable knit and tweed, making for versatile garment design. Thermal Pro fabrics are used to make zip up cardigans, gloves, hats and vests.

Polartec Wind Pro and Windbloc

Polartec Wind Pro provides more protection from wind than regular fleece fabric and can be used as outerwear as well as for insulation. The fabric's tightly woven construction prevents wind from penetrating the fabric and the surface is treated with water repellent. Polarfleece Windbloc includes a windproof membrane lining just underneath the woven fabric that makes the fabric completely windproof. Windbloc fabric is also water repellent and stretches. Garments made from Wind Pro and Windbloc can eliminate the need for windbreakers and improve outdoor sports performance. The fabrics are used to create jackets, shoe insulation and hats.

Polarfleece is the original fleece fabric created by Malden Mills. The highly breathable fabric creates air pockets that provide insulation and warmth, resembling sheep's wool in its warmth and insulation properties. Polarfleece is used in the home collection to make stain resistant and lightweight blankets that are durable and washable.
