Tipp-Ex is the brand name of a correction fluid (white-out). It can be tough to remove from clothing. But there are some steps you can follow to remove Tipp-Ex, if you get it (or another brand of correction fluid) on your clothes.

Scrape off as much of the Tipp-Ex as possible using a butter knife. Take care not to damage the fabric.

Do a patch test on a small corner of the fabric to make sure that the Tipp-Ex doesn't bleach or damage it. Be extra careful with delicate fabrics, such as silk.

Dip the cotton ball into the white spirit and dab it on the Tipp-Ex stain. Start at the outer edge of the stain and work your way toward the centre.

Let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse off with cool water.

Wash the garment in the washing machine as you normally would. If the stain is still there, continue to Step 6.

Spray WD-40 on the Tipp-Ex stain.

Let it sit for 15 minutes.

Wash the garment as you usually would, using a biological laundry detergent. Non-biological detergents will leave a WD-40 stain.

TIP

The sooner you treat the stain, the better the chance of removing it.
