Inviting people to events and functions typically involves a traditional invitation. You may want to change this up by sending funny invitations. When brainstorming humorous invitation ideas, try to incorporate things you enjoy. The invitees may enjoy the invitations because they are a break from the norm. Review different types of funny invitations and select the one that best represents your funny side. Use funny invitations for special events, especially parties.

Retro Library Card Invitation

Retro library card invitations are a blast from the past. You can print them on card stock and create a basic library card design on a personal computer. Use a grid in the background and type the invitation details on top of the grid. Use a typewriter font to make the invitation look more like a library card. Add an RSVP date response section at the bottom. After printing the invitations, cut them to the desired size. Use a stamp to print the RSVP date, making the invitation more like a library card.

Movie Premiere Invitation

Contact a local cinema manager and ask him if you can take a picture of the movie screen. Once you have the photo, edit it using photo-editing software. You can add phrases and quotes from friends and family on the screen. Include the name of the person who said the phrase. For example, if your friend John is known for saying "let's party," you may want to add this quote to the picture, followed by John's name. Include a phrase on the lower part of the picture that invites guests to the event. Print the photos and add them to the front of a traditional invitation with details of the event.

We Just Clicked

This card uses a keyboard theme. The front of the invitation should include an image of your car's key or keyless entry device. Include a funny phrase about finding the key to happiness. The inside of the card should use a cursive font and different keys from a keyboard throughout the invitation to emphasise the theme. Insert images of the backspace, home, pause, escape and control buttons from a keyboard where appropriate. For example, when using the phrase "Welcome to our home for this celebration," insert an image of the "home" key to replace the actual word.

Christmas Party

This card should have a cartoonish image of Santa and Ms. Claus dancing. Add a humorous tagline at the top of the invitation and details of the events below. Print this card in colour on card stock.
