Kids love to find their own identities and there's no better place to express that than in their own bedrooms. A child can display personal interests. Many have done just that with a love of flight or aeroplanes. Airplane rooms can be easily designed from the floor to the ceiling.

Airplanes on the Ceiling

Because aeroplanes fly, it's appropriate that they'd be on the ceiling of a child's room. Though aeroplane wallpaper could be used on the ceiling, there are many other options available. For instance, there are ceiling fans that look like propellers, plane propeller chandeliers and flying pendants that can hang from ceilings. Mobiles display multiple aeroplanes in one area. For collector's items, hang vintage aeroplane ornaments or models as well.

Airplanes on the Walls

Of course, the walls are where a great many aeroplane ideas can be expressed. Again, wallpaper is always a choice, but there are even more options for decorating walls. Use a real large propeller on the wall, either as a decoration alone or add some posts and make it a clothes hanger. Posters of aircraft can be hung, as well as clings and aeroplane-shaped chalkboards. There are even clocks, light switch plates, tapestries and curtains with aeroplane themes.

Airplanes on the Floors

There's no need to stop at the walls and ceiling. Use floor coverings such as foam floor tiles that look like an airport landing strip and aeroplane-themed throw rugs. Buy furniture such as dressers or cabinets designed with an aeroplane theme. Buy ready-made pieces, add decals to existing pieces or paint them yourself

Airplane Decor

Kids bedrooms offer a clean pallet for creative ideas. Things like aeroplane bedding are easy changes. Everything from the sheets to the comforter can be switched out. There are padded chairs and rocking chairs with aeroplane themes. Let's not forget dustbins and tissue box covers. For smaller children, a decorated step stool or small aeroplane toys can be strategically placed. There are also bedside clocks in the shape of planes, as well as lamps, lampshades and bookends.
