Developed by Centerpointe Research Institute, Holosync is a personal development program that uses audio technology in an attempt to change listeners' brainwave frequencies. Centerpointe claims it quickly brings listeners into deep states of meditation by stimulating the brain with low-frequency tones played under gentle music and environmental sounds. The Holosync program works progressively through a total of 13 levels, including four levels at the Purification stage.

The Holosync program consists of an initial prologue followed by 12 levels divided into three stages: "Awakening" levels 1, 2, 3 and 4; "Purification" levels 1, 2, 3 and 4; and "Flowering" levels 1, 2, 3 and 4. The four Purification levels occur in the middle, making them levels 6, 7, 8 and 9 of the total program. Centerpointe recommends following the sequence in order. The system works progressively, putting the listener into a deeper meditative state with each subsequent level.
Holosync's four Purification levels each contain six soundtracks, named Dive, Immersion, Immersion 1.5, Immersion 0.5, Immersion 0.3 and Floating. The soundtracks play two slightly different tones in each ear at very low frequencies, below the frequency threshold of hearing. Centerpointe claims that the soundtracks rapidly lower listeners' brainwave patterns from high alpha waves to deep delta waves, ranging from 0.1 to 3.9 Hz. Delta brainwave states induce trancelike consciousness to aid the practice of meditation. Centerpointe recommends listening to Floating, the final soundtrack, during sleep, and says all soundtracks should be listened to with stereo headphones for the audio technology to be effective.
Centerpointe allows Holosync users to encode silent messages into each Purification level soundtrack they order. Users record short affirmations over the phone in the first person, present tense, regarding areas they want to improve on, including health, success, self-image and relationships. Centerpointe recommends clear, concise messages, such as "I am successful," "I feel healthy and strong," or "I enjoy coming up with new ideas." According to the company, the listener's unconscious mind detects the encrypted message, using it to reprogram old behaviours and beliefs into more desirable ones.
According to Centerpointe, the entire Holosync program usually takes between eight and 10 years to complete, though there is no requirement to go through all the levels. Participants begin the Purification levels around 2 1/2 years into the program, and usually finish the last Purification level in the sixth year. Each of the four Purification levels usually requires between eight and 12 months to finish. Centerpointe suggests meditating with the CDs for a half-hour to an hour each day.
