Making a believable fake news headline requires Adobe Photoshop or a similar photo editing program and doctoring an existing legitimate image of a newspaper headline. False newspaper headlines and articles have existed as long as news articles have existed. You may want to make a fake article headline as a practical joke. Satirical publications such as "The Onion" exist to publish fictitious newspaper articles for comical purposes. Creating fake newspaper article headlines is a simple way to make people laugh, celebrate an achievement or play a prank.

Instructions

  1. 1

Open Adobe Photoshop. If you don't own it, you can download a free trial.

  2. 2

Find a quality high-resolution image of a newspaper headline online. Otherwise, scan a copy of a newspaper onto your computer.

  3. 3

Open up the headline image in Photoshop.

  4. 4

Use the "Clone Stamp" tool. This copies an image to another location. Choose your background colour to be the same colour as the colour of the newspaper headline. Copy this colour over the existing newspaper headline, thus erasing it.

  5. 5

Create a text box over the place where the headline used to be.

  6. 6

Select a font, size and colour for your newspaper headline.

  7. 7

Enter the text of your fake newspaper headline. Center the text.

  8. 8

    Save your document.
