How to Connect an AOC Monitor to a MacBook

Updated July 20, 2017

Connect your MacBook to an AOC monitor for a dual-monitor set-up or to view digital files on a larger screen. The Mini DisplayPort included on the MacBook allows you to export the video feed from the laptop's video card to a monitor or other external display. Although the Mini DisplayPort is a native feature of the MacBook, you will need to purchase an additional adaptor to unlock its functions.

Insert one end of the Mini DisplayPort adaptor into the port on the side of the MacBook.

Plug one end of the VGA cable into the port on the adaptor and screw down the fasteners to secure the connection.

Connect the other side of the cable to the "VGA" port on the rear of the monitor. Turn on the monitor and the MacBook will immediately begin sending the video feed to the monitor's display.

Things You'll Need

  • Mini DisplayPort To VGA Adapter
  • VGA cable
