Often, Facebook members prefer to preserve their privacy by choosing not to display their full names. Changing your name to initials can also decrease the occurrence of uninvited friend requests. You can easily change your Facebook name to initials by changing information in your profile account settings.

Log on to your Facebook account and click "Account" located in the upper right area of your computer screen.

Click "Account Settings" to open the "My Account" page. Click the "Settings" tab and click the "change" link next to "Name."

Type your first-name initial next to "First Name:" and your last-name initial next to "Last Name:." Click the "Save Changes" button to save these settings.
