eBay allows sellers to send invoices to winning bidders and buyers, giving the buyer a clear view of exactly how much is owed for the item won or purchased. Some buyers bid on or purchase several items from the same seller, so eBay gives sellers who have the "eBay Checkout" account feature the option to send a single invoice with multiple items included. This is useful for sellers who combine shipping on items since it lets them inform their buyers of the correct price of their purchases, including shipping charges.
