The WBFS file format is a proprietary file format used by the Nintendo Wii. When Nintendo Wii games are backed up to a hard drive, the game is saved in this WBFS format. From this format, the Wii can read the game data and play the game directly from the hard drive. The WBFS game can also have its game data recompiled and converted back into an ISO file where it can be burnt to a blank DVD to play from the Wii's disk drive. This process is very straightforward, as there is only one program that can convert the WBFS game to the ISO format.
