The Weber Baby Q portable gas grill has 189 square inches of cooking space and utilises propane canisters with capacities of 400gr. or less. Using a digital meat thermometer with a long lead wire leading to the readout allows you to monitor the internal temperature of the roast without opening the lid, and using the low heat setting allows the outside and the interior of the roast to cook evenly. Only apply marinades or high-sugar sauces to the roast in the last 15 minutes of cooking to prevent scorching.

  1. 1

Open the lid of the grill and turn the burner control knob to the "Start" position. Close the lid and heat the Baby Q for 10 minutes on high.

  2. 2

Coat the roast with a thin layer of olive oil and season to taste with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Place the roast on the grill, insert a digital meat thermometer in its thickest portion, place the digital readout outside the grill and close the lid.

  3. 3

Cook the roast for 12 minutes and adjust the temperature to low. Allow approximately 45 minutes of total cooking time for medium-rare. Turn the roast over after 20 minutes of cooking. Monitor the internal temperature of the roast using the oven thermometer. Cook to 51.7 degrees Celsius for medium-rare, 135 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-well.
