The iBook G4 is a laptop computer that runs Apple's OS X operating system. If you have an iBook G4 and you would like to boot from a USB drive, you will need to use a keyboard shortcut to enter the Apple boot menu. Since USB drives can now hold enough memory for an operating system, many people load operating systems onto their flash drives. You don't have to be a computer programmer to perform this task. You can do it yourself with little hassle and just a few keystrokes.

Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your iBook G4.

Boot your computer using the "Power" button on the computer.

Press the "C" key on the computer keyboard while the computer is booting.

Wait for the boot menu to appear on the screen.

Use your mouse to double click on the USB flash drive icon from the menu and wait for the iBook to boot from the USB flash drive.
