How to remove recent documents in openoffice

OpenOffice is a popular open source office suite used for databases, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and other computer related tasks often used in offices. While it saves files in its own proprietary format, it is capable of opening files created in other office suites, such as Microsoft Office. OpenOffice doesn't offer a direct way to remove the Recent Document history, however, it can be done manually.

    Close OpenOffice. It cannot be open while perform the removal of recently opened documents listings.

    Click the "Start" button and type "Common.xcu" into the search bar, then press enter. When it appears, click "Common.xcu" and move it to the Recycling Bin.

    Reopen OpenOffice. This will regenerate the recent document cache, but it will now be blank.
