When you import images from a camera or other device, they all appear on you computer using the "landscape," or horizontal orientation. This means that images can be naturally cropped at 4-by-6 inches, or 4x6. All photos taken in a "portrait" orientation, with the camera held on its side, appear sideways. You can also rotate images using the Windows operating system.

Skill level:

  1. 1

    Right-click the image.

  2. 2

    Select "Rotate clockwise."

  3. 3

If the picture is now upside-down, rotate it clockwise two more times.
