How to Connect a Laptop to iPhone Internet

Connect a laptop computer to your iPhone using the wireless hot spot functionality built into the device. Available as an added service on both the AT&T and Verizon networks, the wireless hot spot functionality can be easily enabled from the iPhone settings. Once enabled, you can connect to the iPhone as if it were a wireless access point and browse the Web using your 3G network service.

Enable wireless hot spot service for your iPhone, if you haven't already, by contacting your wireless provider. The service requires an unlimited data plan and costs an additional £6 per month as of spring 2011.

Tap the "Settings" icon on your iPhone home screen.

Tap "General" and select "Network."

Tap "Personal Hotspot."

Slide the on/off switch for "Personal Hotspot" to "On" by swiping across the switch.

Set a password for your personal hot spot if you wish to secure the connection.

Connect to the wireless hot spot from your laptop using the network manager on your computer.
