Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 is a video editing program. Adobe allows you to add additional plug-ins, which give you more transition effects and other options the standard Premiere Pro CS3 doesn't come with. Once you have downloaded the file to your computer, you need to properly install the plug-in.

Instructions

  1. 1

Download the plug-in you want to use in Premiere Pro CS3. These are available directly through Adobe or other third-party sites.

  2. 2

Right-click the file and choose "Extract." Most plug-ins download in a compressed format. Follow the prompts to completely extract the plug-in file.

  3. 3

Click "Start," "Computer," then double-click the "C:" drive icon. Choose "Program Files," "Adobe," "Premiere CS3" and double-click the "Plug-Ins" folder.

  4. 4

Select the folder your plug-in is for. This ranges from "Transitions," to "Filters" or "Effects." When you download the file, it states what kind of plug-in the file is. Double-click the specific folder and leave the window open for the time being.

  5. 5

Click-and-drag the extracted plug-in file into the open window. Close out all the windows and open Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. When you go to the area that uses the new plug-in, this feature is now an option. For example, if you go to the transition effects, the new transition is now available.
