Third Generation, or 3G, gives you high-speed Internet access on your mobile phone. You can download pictures, watch videos and attend video conferences. It gives you some of the same capabilities as when surfing the Internet on your laptop or desktop computer. On the downside, having 3G enabled on your mobile phone can also drain the life out of your battery. If you use the Internet a lot, you may find yourself with a dead phone. Consider disabling this option from your phone's settings to conserve its energy.

Turn on your phone. Access the main menu. This directs you to all your phone's options and settings.
Press "Settings" and "General." This takes you to the "General Settings" submenu.
Press the "Network" button. Look for the option listed for "3G." Select "Off" next to the option. You have now disabled 3G on your phone.
