How to Refill a Rapidograph

Updated April 17, 2017

Rapidograph pens are designed with artists and architects in mind. The precision pens allow users to draw, trace and write without ink spots or leaks. Rapidograph pens feature refillable ink cartridges. As Rapidographs cost more than the average pen, you'll likely find it more economical to refill your Rapidograph's ink cartridge rather than replace the pen. You can refill your Rapidograph's ink cartridge without disassembling the entire pen.

Remove the pen's cap. Unscrew the pen's housing from the pen's assembly.

Unscrew the ink chamber's cap from the rest of the pen's assembly. Remove the ink chamber and cap, but leave the rest of the pen's assembly intact.

Clean the ink chamber out using a cotton swab. Use the cotton swab to remove any built-up ink.

Remove the cap from the ink refill cartridge. Slowly tilt the refill bottle's nozzle into the pen's ink chamber to fill the chamber with ink.

Slide the ink chamber's cap back over the ink chamber. Screw the base of the pen's assembly into the internal threads of the ink chamber's cap.

Screw the pen's housing back over the external threads of the ink chamber's cap.
