How to Install a Traveler DC5

Updated April 17, 2017

The Traveler DC 5 series cameras offer a five megapixel resolution, with a three inch display. The DC 5 series requires no software to connect with a computer -- the camera's internal software facilitates the USB connection between the camera and computer. But if you'd like to use your DC 5 series camera as a webcam, you'll need to use the PC webcam driver on the camera's software CD.

Insert the software CD into the computer's CD/DVD-ROM drive to install the PC cam driver from the DC5900's installation disk. If you don't intend to use your DC5 as a webcam, skip the driver installation steps.

Click on the computer's "Start" button and select the "Computer" option from the Start menu. Click on the CD/DVD-ROM drive's icon in the Computer menu and then click on the PC Cam Driver to install it. Restart the computer after installing the driver.

Connect the DC5900 to the computer via the camera's USB cable. Connect the USB mini side of the cable to the DC5900's USB port. Plug the opposite end of the cable into a USB port on the computer.

Switch on the Traveler DC5's power. Use the DC5900's arrow buttons to select the "PC" option from the camera's display. Press the camera's "Set" button.
