Yu-Gi-Oh is a popular collectable card game based on the cartoon of the same name. The series featured card game battles as part of the storyline, making for an easy market transition into a game in the same vein as Magic: The Gathering. Toons are a specific class of character card in the Yu-Gi-Oh universe. In most collectable card games, theme decks are popular. One theme deck option when creating a Yu-Gi-Oh deck is to create a Toon-based deck.

  1. 1

Put three Toon Table of Contents and three Toon World cards into your deck. As with most Yu-Gi-Oh cards, you can have only three of these cards in your deck at a time. These cards are invaluable in a Toon deck. Table of Contents cards allow you to instantly go into your deck and find any Toon card that you need after you play it. Toon World is required to be in play before you can play most Toon monsters, making it equally important.

  2. 2

Select 16 creature cards to include in your deck. You don't need more than that because the Toon Table of Contents will ensure that you can go looking for your big powerful creatures whenever you want. Good options for monsters in a Toon deck include the Toon Mermaid, the Toon Cannon Soldier, Toon Goblin Attack Force and the Toon Gemini Elf. Include a few useful non-Toon creatures such as Breaker the Magical Warrior or Sangan

  3. 3

Add in spells to your deck. You should have 19 spells. Subtracting the six cards that you must have in the deck from Step 1 leaves you with 13 new spells to choose. Choose a few monster destruction cards like Fissure or Hammer Shot. Add in must-have spells like Snatch Steal and Graceful Charity. For a Toon deck, Delinquent Duo, Metamorphosis and Scapegoat are all spells that will work well.

  4. 4

Add five trap cards to your deck to complete it. Toon Defense should be included because it is a valuable card in keeping with the thematic structure of the deck. Call of the Haunted and Mirror Force are also good options. Select two remaining trap cards from the cards you have available that you feel will complement the overall deck.
