The Fisher Price 12V battery is the standard battery that comes with the Power Wheels toy. The battery is rechargeable, thus eliminating the need to spend a lot of money on new batteries. There are two types of Fisher Price 12-volt batteries. One consist of a single 12-volt battery. The other consists of two 6-volt batteries. Before charging your battery, look at the battery's label to determine whether you have a single 12-volt or two 6-volts. You can then purchase a charger that is compatible for your battery.

Instructions

  1. 1

Examine the battery to ensure there are no cracks or damage to the casing. If you notice cracks or damage, do not charge the battery. Doing so can result in acid leaking from the battery.

  2. 2

Place the battery in a well ventilated area. If you like, you can leave the battery inside of the Power Wheels toy.

  3. 3

Plug the charger's connector cable into the charger port that is located on the side of the battery. Plug the charger into a nearby electrical socket.

  4. 4

Allow the battery to charge for 14 hours. If the battery has never been charged before, allow it to charge for 18 hours. Never allow the battery to charge for more than 30 hours.

  5. 5

Disconnect the charger from the battery when charging is complete. If you purchased a battery charger with LED lights, the lights will indicate when the battery is fully charged.
