It is nice to have the same amount of space in your vehicle even when you install a subwoofer. Most of the time people just put it in the back of their vehicle and lose boot space. Fortunately, in the Jeep Cherokee there is a way to install the subwoofer directly into the spare tire that is mounted on the inside side wall of the back space. This is an easy and cool way to save space and get the sound you want. It will take you about an hour to set it all up.

Things you need
- Strong double-sided tape
- Zip ties
Remove the spare tire from the back of the vehicle by removing the centre wing nut and washer. Lay the spare tire down flat in the back of the Jeep.
Pull the subwoofer connection wire from the stereo and run it along the floor past the passenger seat and all the way back to the location of where the spare tire is. Run the wire through the back of the wheel and through the wheel spokes to the front face of the wheel. You will want to lift and run the wire under the carpet unless you want to remove it easily in the future.
Stand up your subwoofer on the tire and attach the wires to the back by sliding on the connections. Turn on the stereo to make sure the connection is good.
Apply double-sided tape in four locations on the wheel face where the subwoofer will rest on its flange.
Attach zip ties from the subwoofer flange holes to the wheel for extra security.
Replace your spare tire back into its location.
Tips and warnings
- You might want to get a fabric tire cover to protect the subwoofer from damage or to hide it from view.
