How to Find Out My Provisional License Number

Updated April 17, 2017

A provisional license is given to drivers who have passed their driving test; the provisional license lasts 180 days during which time the driver cannot have a moving violation or the license is revoked. The license itself looks no different from a full license, but a card comes with it stating that the license is provisional. In order to find out your provisional license number, look at the license itself.

Take out your provisional license from your wallet, ID carrier or wherever you keep your provisional license.

There will be a long number separated with dashes that begins with a letter; this is your license number.

Look at the card that came with your provisional license; this will also have your license number printed on it.

If you have lost your license, you can go to your local DMV to get it replaced.
