When you dye clothing or other fabric items using RIT fabric dye, it may seem as though you can only choose the colours of dye shown on the box. However, you can actually combine RIT fabric dye colours to create a specific dye colour, such as teal. This can allow you to match the shade of a teal item of clothing so that any damage or imperfections of the clothing can be corrected.

Pour 237 ml (1 cup) of water into a pot.

Add in 1 tbsp of RIT teal powdered fabric dye.

Add in 1 1/2 tsp of RIT kelly green powdered fabric dye.

Whisk the mixture until it is completely combined.

Fill the pot with 4 litres (4 quarts) of water. You can now use the dye to colour fabric a deep teal.
