How to convert mesh to micron
A particle's mesh size can be measure by sifting it through variously sized screens. (black mesh image by Paul Mitchell from Fotolia.com)

Mesh is a unit of measure that details the size of the pore openings in a woven material. The mesh value is equal to the number of openings per inch. A micron is a unit of measure that is equal to a millionth of a meter. Converting between the two is not an easy matter as there is no mathematical constant available. However, there are multiple charts available that can make conversion simple.
