How to convert mesh to micron

Updated July 20, 2017

Mesh is a unit of measure that details the size of the pore openings in a woven material. The mesh value is equal to the number of openings per inch. A micron is a unit of measure that is equal to a millionth of a meter. Converting between the two is not an easy matter as there is no mathematical constant available. However, there are multiple charts available that can make conversion simple.

Visit the conversion chart on the Showmegold website. This chart details mesh values converted to inches, microns and millimetres.

Visit the Tempo Foam site to view its Mesh to Micron chart. This chart also outlines mesh measurements converted to inches, microns and millimetres.

Visit the Industrial Filter site for its conversion chart. This chart details mesh values converted to microns and inches.
