How to Wash Towels & Keep Them Soft

Updated February 21, 2017

Few things are more enjoyable than getting out of the shower and drying off with a soft, fluffy towel. Sometimes your towels can become stiff over time and develop odours. To keep your towels looking and feeling their best, you'll need to launder them in a way that fluffs, cleans and deodorises all at the same time. Add a few extra steps to your regular laundry routine.

Place the towels in the washing machine, using a large load size so the towels can move freely.

Turn on a hot water wash and add your regular detergent along with 1 cup of white vinegar to disinfect and clean.

Remove the towels from the wash, place them in the dryer and add in two dryer sheets.

Toss two tennis balls into the dryer as well; they will bounce around and fluff the towels.

Things You'll Need

  • Washing machine
  • Dryer
  • Washing powder
  • White vinegar
  • Dryer sheets
  • Tennis balls
