How to write a car sponsorship proposal

Offering businesses the opportunity to advertise on your car in return for funding can help you make a profit from your vehicle expenses. The first step to obtaining a car sponsorship is to write a proposal that documents what you offer potential sponsors and what you're looking for in return.

    Draw up a short list of potential sponsors and research their businesses. Look for local businesses that run active marketing campaigns. Those with a larger marketing budget tend to be more visible and it will be easier to speak to decision-makers by targeting local, rather than national, organisations.

This should focus on who you are, what you're looking for, why it is likely to benefit your target, and any other main points of interest. For example, state the number of miles you commit to driving or the number of races in which you will participate. Include a photograph and details about any existing sponsorships.

    Specify the desired length of the sponsorship agreement, who will pay for applying the sponsor's logo, how to resolve disputes, and renewal or termination options.
