The Coolsat Platinum 5000 is a digital free-to-air satellite receiver that allows you to pick up programming from all over the world that is not scramble-protected. Scramble-protected programs are stations you receive from high-end cable and satellite pay-to-use packages. In order to receive the latest TV stations, you must program the Coolsat Platinum 5000 receiver yourself.

Power down your Coolsat Platinum 5000 receiver. You cannot program the content initially while the hardware is turned on.
Navigate to the Coolsat receiver's manufacturing website, then choose the Platinum 5000 as the receiver model you are using.
Select the download link next to the FTA file to obtain the latest satellite file information.
Right-click the downloaded file and choose "Extract." Click "Next" when the extract application loads to extract the data files.
Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on the computer. Remove any file you currently have saved on the flash drive as it must be blank to perform the programming. Click "Start," "Computer" and double-click the USB flash drive icon. Once the window opens click-and-drag the extracted data into the window.
Disconnect the flash drive from the computer and plug it into the USB port on the Coolsat Platinum 5000. Power on the receiver; the programming files upload directly to the receiver.
