How to Enter Statistical Data Into a Sharp El-531W Calculator

The Sharp El-531W scientific calculator is a handheld calculator that can perform a variety of statistical functions including permutations, combinations, the sum of sample data and standard deviations. In order to perform functions that involve data sets, you must first enter the data set into the calculator. The data is stored in a list, which the calculator stores and then retrieves when you select a 1-variable or 2-variable statistical function.

  1. 1

    Press the "Mode" key and then press "1" and "0." This enters you into single-variable statistics mode.

  2. 2

    Enter the first X value in your dataset, then press the "2ndF" key followed by the "," key.

  3. 3

    Enter the first Y value in your dataset, followed by the "Data" key.

  4. 4

    Enter the remaining X and Y values, following the guidelines in Step 2 and 3.

Tips and warnings

  • If you want to enter the 2-variable mode to enter data, press "Mode," "1," and then "1" in Step 1.
