Don't pay for minor repairs to your Hewlett Parkard Laserjet CP4005 when you may be able to address problems yourself. According to the HP support website, performing a factory, or cold, reset on the printer can repair a number of issues. A cold reset will restore the Laserjet CP4005 to its default configuration. Record any settings you want to keep before performing a factory reset.

    Press the "Power" button to turn off the Laserjet.

    Press and hold the "Go" button on the control panel.

    Turn on the printer.

    Continue to hold the "Go" button until the printer's display reads "Cold Reset," then release the button. The Laserjet will reset and enter "Offline" mode.

    Press the "Go" button to set the Laserjet back to online mode.
