How to reset car keys

Updated February 21, 2017

Program car keys to your vehicle from your driver's seat in just a few minutes. You can sync or reset these keys with no experience or professional equipment, and you can use them in just minutes. In fact, you can program up to four different keys. Once programmed, the car keys are the only keys that can be inserted into your ignition to start your car.

Enter your car with two programmed keys and a third key that you would like to reset.

Insert your first programmed key into the ignition, turn it "On" and then back to "Off" and then remove the key.

Insert the second key within five seconds, cycle in "On" and "Off" and then remove this key.

Insert the key you would like to reset within 10 seconds, turn it "On" and leave it there for one second and then turn it back "Off."

Wait for the security light to turn on and remove your reset key from the ignition to finish the process.
