Taking apart a computer can be intimidating if you've never none it before. But, if you plan on repairing, upgrading and troubleshooting your eMachines' hardware, you must know how to correctly dismantle the desktop's outer casing. Opening your eMachines computer's outer casing requires almost no disassembly.

- Phillips screwdriver
Use the operating system's start menu to power down the computer. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for the desktop to cool down. Touch an unpainted metal surface to discharge the static electricity from your body before attempting to open the computer's casing.
Rotate the computer so the back panel is facing toward you. Disconnect the power cable and all external devices from the computer. Lay the computer tower on its left side.
Remove the Phillips screws from the left edge of the back panel. These screws fasten the right side access panel to the computer's frame.
Grasp the right side panel's moulded grip, and then remove the side panel from the computer to reveal its internal components.
