How to Reset the Oil Change Light for a VW Eos

Updated February 21, 2017

The Volkswagen EOS uses a maintenance reminder system that alerts the driver when it is time to have the engine oil and filter changed. The system monitors driving conditions to determine the appropriate intervals between service. The oil change monitoring system must be reset after each service so it can accurately determine when the next oil change should be done. Volkswagen dealers will routinely reset the oil change light when they perform the oil change service. You can manually reset the light if you change the oil yourself.

Insert the key into the ignition but leave the ignition turned off.

Press and hold the trip odometer reset button.

Turn the ignition to "ON."

Press and release the "MIN" clock adjustment button.

Release the trip odometer reset button when the oil change light resets.
