The BOSU Ball, or "Both Sides Up" Ball, is designed to help people get more out of their workouts. It consists of a half ball with dome on one side and a flat, non-skid base on the other. Having an unstable side (dome) makes the BOSU Ball great for balance and core body training. It can also be altered to work the upper and lower body. Made of flame-resistant material, the BOSU Ball will hold up to 136 Kilogram.

    Let the ball sit for 24 hours - the ball can expand as much as half inch after inflation. Measure the ball; it should be nine to 12 inches in diameter. The degree of inflation will affect the workout on both the dome and flat sides of the ball; a less-inflated ball will provide a more difficult workout on the dome side but an easier workout on the flat side.

    Occasionally check the ball's diameter. The BOSU Ball will lose air over time due to pressure exerted on it by the body.

Tips and warnings

  • A bicycle pump can also be used to inflate the ball.
  • Over-inflating the BOSU Ball will cause its bladder to separate from the base.
