How to Reset the Password on My Nortel T7316E

The Nortel T7316E is an expandable, multiple-line business phone. It has 24 memory buttons and a two-line display with three context-sensitive soft keys and a menu interface. Designed for high-volume calls, its typical users include executives, supervisors, and managers, as well as other business professionals. It has a built-in speaker, and uses icons for efficient routing of customers according to the category of their incoming call. If you need to reset the password of a Nortel T7316E phone, you can do so by following a few simple steps.

Press the "Feature" button.

Type "983". The display will show the message "LOG".

Type in your login password. If your company uses two-digit extensions, the password is "120000"; if it uses three-digit extensions, the password is "1020000"; and if it uses four-digit extensions, the password is "10020000".

Press the "OK" softkey.

Press the "Mbox" softkey.

Press the "Chng" softkey.

Type in the mailbox number whose password you want to reset. The display will show the message, "Reset Password".

Press the "Reset" softkey.

Press the "Release" key. The display will show the new password as being reset to "0000", and will ask the user to change this password the first time he logs into his mailbox using this "0000" password.
