How to Reset a Fujitsu Siemens Laptop

A frozen computer can be frustrating. Or maybe you're being delayed because you need to reset the computer after installing a major download. Whatever the case, Fujitsu laptops are Windows-based personal computers and they work similarly to other Windows PCs. If you run into a problem with the computer, you may need to restart it to solve the issue. Likewise, if you have recently made a big change in hardware or software, you may need to restart multiple times to get it working properly.

    Normal Reset

    Click on the "Start" button at the bottom of the screen.

    Go to the arrow at the right of the search box and select "Restart" on a Vista Fujitsu. For XP, select "Shutdown" and then "Restart."

    Allow the computer to fully reboot.

    Frozen Computer

    Press and hold "Alt + Ctrl + Del" simultaneously.

    Hit "Alt + Ctrl + Del" again to reset an XP computer when the Task Manager appears. On a Vista computer, a new screen will appear. Click the red arrow at the bottom of the screen and select "Restart."

    Allow the computer to fully reboot.

Tips and warnings

  • Press and hold the power button above the keyboard to turn off the laptop. Press it again to turn it back on. Use this tactic when you cannot get the Task Manager to appear.
