How to Convert From Design CAD to Autocad

Design CAD is a computer aided drafting program published by IMSI Design. The software can be used to create 2D and 3D drawings and animations. AutoCAD is another CAD program, created by Autodesk. Files created in Design CAD can be converted and read in AutoCAD.

    Open the file you wish to convert in DesignCAD.

    Export the file to .dxf or .dwg. Choose the "Export" option from the "File" menu, then select the file type you wish to use for your converted file. Two common file types usable in AutoCAD are .dxf and .dwg.

    Open the .dxf or .dwg file in AutoCAD. Go to "File" > "Open" in AutoCAD and select the file in the dialogue box that opens.
