How to Fix an HTC Touch If Frozen

Updated July 20, 2017

You can fix your frozen HTC Touch cell phone using a hard or a soft reset. Your phone is frozen when the screen won't change, nothing happens when you press the keys or the touch screen ignores your commands. A hard reset should be used as a last resort since it will delete all of your saved information.

Remove the stylus from your phone.

Locate the reset button to the right of the USB port on the bottom of the phone.

Use the stylus to depress the reset button.

Wait five seconds, then remove stylus.

Wait for phone to return to normal operations.

Remove the stylus from your phone. (See Reference 1)

Press and hold "Talk" and "End" buttons.

While buttons are depressed, use the stylus to depress the reset button. You will then see this message: "This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press Action to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel."

Release the "Talk" and "End" buttons and press "Enter."
