How do I Change the Wireless Switch on an HP Laptop?

Updated February 21, 2017

HP, or Hewlett-Packard, is an American electronics company that manufactures printers, scanners, fax machines and computers. HP computers with built-in wireless network cards sometimes feature a wireless switch for toggling wireless networking capabilities on or off. If the wireless switch is not activated, you will not be able to connect to wireless Internet or your wireless home network. Activating the wireless switch on your HP laptop is easy and will take only a few seconds.

Open and turn on your laptop.

Look for a button or switch with the universal "Wi-Fi" symbol printed on the top. The symbol resembles a radio mast with radiating waves on each side.

Press the button. A blue light near the button should light up to indicate wireless networking is now active.
