How Do I Use the Timer on a Whirlpool Digital Oven?

Updated July 20, 2017

Whirpool digital ovens come with a timer that allows you to set hours and minutes up to 12 hours and 59 minutes. The timer allows you to set for a specific time but will not stop and start the oven. The ability to set the timer for such a large amount of time can benefit if you are slow cooking ribs or a roast--or any dish that requires a set amount of time to cook.

Press the "Timer set" button and a timer indicator light will illuminate. If you allow five minutes to pass while setting the timer, the light will go off and you will have to press "Timer set" again.

Choose the "Hour" button to select the number of hours you want to set; push the arrow up until you reach the number of hours desired. Select the "Minute" button and move the arrow up to add minutes or down to subtract minutes. Press the "Start" button to begin the countdown to the amount of time selected.

Press the "Timer off" button to make the timer stop. When the time you set has been reached, the timer will let you know with an end-of-time tone. Most Whirlpool models will also give you a timer-finished tone every two minutes thereafter.
