How to Adjust Contrast & Brightness on an HP Pavilion

Updated April 17, 2017

Hewlett-Packard (HP) is a popular computer company. The Pavilion laptop series is specifically tailored for media and entertainment purposes. When working with media such as videos or pictures, a well balanced display is essential--an image too dark or poorly contrasted will not provide a good experience for the viewer. Adjusting the display options on an HP Pavilion laptop is a simple process.

Start up your HP laptop and wait for Windows to boot.

Right-click on your desktop and select "NIVIDA Control Panel."

Click on the "Display" icon, then select "Adjust Desktop Color Settings."

Adjust the levels next to "Brightness" and "Contrast." Move the dial to the right to increase the levels, or to the left to decrease.

Click on "Apply" to save the settings, then exit the control panel by pressing the "X" in the top corner of the window.
