Fence finials are available in a variety of materials, including several different metals. Most finials, or fence post caps are designed to enhance the appearance of a fence while protecting the posts from weather damage. The caps for a metal fence such as a chain link fence are usually made of the same metal as the posts. Stainless steel, brass and copper finials are also made for protecting and decorating a wood fence.
