How to Clean My Osprey Backpack

Updated July 19, 2017

Osprey backpacks are prized by hikers, campers and students alike for their high quality, low maintenance and trusted durability. Through light, routine cleaning, owners can keep their Osprey bags in good, clean condition without hassle, though the company does recommend giving the bag a thorough washing on occasion, especially after heavy or extended use.

Clean the pack after each use by removing each item (such as sleeping bag or tent), shaking out debris and wiping and/or scrubbing stains with a brush and mild laundry detergent.

Wash your Osprey backpack more thoroughly by filling a bathtub or large basin with enough warm water to submerge the pack. Remove harness or hipbelt before washing. Add mild detergent to the water and agitate the pack in the suds. Remove and rinse thoroughly in clean water.

Hang the bag to dry outdoors or in a ventilated area out of direct sunlight.
