How to clean a waterpik shower head

Updated February 21, 2017

Waterpik carries a high quality line of shower heads, from basic units to luxury massaging shower heads. The shower head needs to be cleaned on occasion, as moisture around the shower head leads to the development of mildew and mould growth. This not only breeds harmful bacteria, but can also clog your shower head openings. By cleaning regularly, you will keep your Waterpik shower head looking and running just as it did when you first installed it.

Pour 1/2 cup white vinegar into a plastic 1-gallon food storage bag.

Twist the shower head off of your shower unit and rinse the shower head with hot water.

Pour white vinegar over a toothbrush and scrub over the shower head to remove mould and soap scum growth.

Dig build-up out of the shower head openings with a toothpick and rinse the shower head once more with hot water.

Place the shower head in the bag of vinegar, and wrap the bag tightly shut with a rubber band. Let it soak for at least two hours, or overnight when possible.

Rinse the shower head with hot water once more and buff dry with a cleaning rag.
